A Blogger, Not a Teacher

I have been publishing blog posts for over three months now and am very thankful for all of the support and encouragement I have received. Even so, I need to make sure that I set the record straight. When blog posts are published, they are meant to be read as just that: blog posts. I am by no means a teacher of theology, health, or anything else; I’m just another beggar trying to tell people where the bread is. Accordingly, my words are not intended to tell you point-blank what to believe. On the contrary, they are meant to encourage you to think about what you believe and why you believe it. Pursue truth, and the truth shall set you free (John 8:31-32, and John 14:6).

“UPHOLD THOSE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE STEADFASTLY; NOT THE WORDS OF YOUR FAVORITE SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER, NOT THE WORDS OF THIS BLOG, BUT THE WORD OF THE EVERLASTING GOD.”

Since I am not a teacher, it is not my intention to have my words used in that way (James 3:1). In light of this, I need to clear the air by clarifying what the mission of this blog is; it is to encourage you on your faith journey. As is stated on the side panel, the mission of Apologia Athlete is to help you realize your identity, to help you embrace your gifts, and to offer encouragement as you use those gifts to serve God and others. We are all people in process. Being Believers, there was a time when our hearts were hearts of stone; but now, they are hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). Therefore, we must press on, and we must uphold diligence in all areas of our walk. Such diligence includes me being clear about the overall purpose of this blog, not wanting to interject my own opinions where they are not consistent with the Word of God.

Yes, this is a short post. However, it is my hope that its content is remembered through the longevity of this blog platform. It is my intention to always speak rightly about God and His Word, but I am a fallible human being. God and His Word on the other hand, are infallible (1 Peter 1:24-25). Furthermore, I am a blogger, not a teacher. Yes, I hope you are able to learn a lot from these posts, and I truly hope that they can offer support. Even so, at the end of the day, we must strive to be students of God’s Word, for Jesus alone has the words of eternal life (John 6:67-69). Please uphold those words of eternal life steadfastly; not the words of your favorite social media influencer, not the words of this blog, but the Word of the Everlasting God (Psalm 90:2).
